How to prepare for IELTS reading test

Reading is one of the essential skills to develop. To prepare for academic IELTS reading it is necessary to read articles in English newspapers, travel brochures, encyclopedia, Wikipedia, etc. you should read English story books, too. Try to read a variety of topics; history, science, culture, social and natural sciences. If you tend to improve your reading skill read faster by reading in groups or chunks rather than word by word. Read at least 2 hours a day. Read three different topics from books, newspapers, journals or magazines. Try to read recent subjects. Pay attention to titles, headings, capitals, boldness, italics, or underline words. Pay careful attention to types of questions and instructions. Work on your reading strategies, scanning, skimming, guessing the meaning of unknown words, understanding the reference words in text and reading quickly
